Irving Park

Eris Brewery & Cider House

4240 W. Irving Park Rd.

DETAILS:

Still only a few years old, Eris is the third owner-occupant of a historic former Masonic Temple building in the Old Irving Park neighborhood. Completed in 1911, the building was originally named Myrtle Masonic Temple Association and was home to multiple Masonic chapters. The Masons occupied the building until 1981, when it was sold to the Bethel Korean Presbyterian Church. Eris worked with brewery design specialist WRAP Architecture to convert the space to commercial use, a project that entailed significant structural work and the salvage of as many architectural elements as possible. Eris brews and ferments its beers and ciders on the premises, complemented by a menu of creative food served in a spectacular high-ceilinged space. The top floor ceremonial hall is still to be renovated.
