Building completed 1973, remodeled 2022

DETAILS:

Formerly known as Sears Tower, Willis Tower is a Chicago icon that remains one of the most popular destinations for tenants and visitors from around the globe. In 2022, Blackstone and EQ Office completed a massive $500 million transformation of Willis Tower welcoming an active neighborhood-scaled experience at street level. Named “Catalog”—an homage to the building’s original tenant, the Sears Roebuck Company and its revolutionary mail order catalog—the five-level extension features new retail, dining and entertainment spaces, including the fourth floor outdoor terrace and new public art installations by Olafur Eliasson and Jacob Hashimoto. Several of the building's tenant-exclusive amenity spaces also underwent major redevelopment, including Altitude, a tenant lounge with amazing views, and the 67th floor Metropolitan, a premier private business and social club, which is celebrating its 50-year anniversary and opening their doors to Open House Chicago.
