DETAILS:

OPEN Center for the Arts provides a space where all artists can come together to share, showcase, refine and develop their talents, as well as support entrepreneurship opportunities in the arts. Located just south of Frederick and Anna Murray Douglass Park in Little Village, the original center opened in 2004 in a building owned by sculptor and entrepreneur Omar Magaña. When a fire consumed that building four years later, the community of artists, educators and community leaders rebuilt and reinvigorated the space, which today hosts art exhibits, workshops, family movie nights and other local events.

VISITOR EXPERIENCE:

The exhibition Journey to Czechia will be on view in the main gallery and there will be a secondary exhibition on the lower level. The patio will be open as well. Throughout both days, we will host two art stations in the main gallery, where participants can engage their creative side and collaborate with others in a communal art-making experience.
